Adenium Obesum, also known as the desert rose or impala lily, is native to the dry, sun-drenched Sahel region, just below the Sahara. This impressive plant combines the ruggedness of wild leaves with the beauty of lovely flowers.

Thanks to its desert origin, the Adenium is particularly easy to care for. It likes to stand in full sun and does very well both indoors and outdoors. In summer, it enjoys the outdoor climate, but also flowers profusely indoors. What makes it truly unique is its ability to store water in the stem, which allows it to withstand desert drought effortlessly.

Care tips

A light, sunny location

This plant is a real sunbather so should be in a place with plenty of sunlight. A place in the windowsill is ideal, but outside on the terrace or balcony in the sun is also a great place.

Keep moist, the potting soil must not dry out

As with almost any plant, it is best to water regularly and not let the pot ball dry out. This way, you will be able to enjoy this rich bloomer for as long as possible. The Adenium is really a very easy plant. If you forget to water in time, the plant will go limp, but it will be fine again after watering.

Remove old flower

To enjoy this beautiful plant for longer, it is advisable to remove the old spent flowers from time to time. This will make it easier for the plant to continue flowering and show a rich display of flowers for months.
