Spectacular Angel Wings

Brazil

Did you know that the Caladium is also called angel wing?

Welcome to our world of unusual plants!

Care tips

A light but shady location

This means daylight but not direct sunlight. With a light but also shady location and a temperature from around 15 °C, the Caladium will do well.

Keep moist, the potting soil must not dry out

It is important to water the plant sufficiently to enjoy this beautiful plant for as long as possible. Caladiums' potting soil should always be slightly moist, but the Caladium does not like wet feet. So avoid getting a layer of water at the bottom of the pot.

Goes into hibernation mode in winter

Caladiums are tuberous plants and therefore grow a little differently than we are used to from most houseplants, as they die off in winter. The plant can then go completely dormant. Do not cut off the leaves until they are completely dry! This is because energy from the leaves flows back to the tuber and ensures that you get a bigger and stronger plant in spring!
