Iresine Herbstii

Steak plant

Brazil

Did you know that the Iresin is also called steak plant?

A light, sunny location

Like most colourful plants, the Iresine likes a lot of light, but since it is an easy plant, it will also do fine in a somewhat darker place. The Iresine can handle bright light, which may give its leaves an even more beautiful colour, but watch out for midday sunlight as it can be too bright for the leaves.

Keep moist, the potting soil must not dry out

As with any plant, it is best to water regularly and not let the pot ball dry out. This Iresine can be quite thirsty, so keep an eye on the soil to make sure it doesn't get too dry. If you have given too little water once, you will see that the leaves start drooping. Water some more and they will stand up straight again. This way, you will be able to enjoy this beautiful colourful plant for as long as possible.

Easy plant

The Iresine is an easy plant to care for. Likes light but does not mind a darker place. Loves water, but if you forget to water it once in a while, it will be fine. Its beautiful leaves will brighten up your interior and give an instant "green touch" to your living room.
Truly a plant to love!
